The chore coats first became popular among various laborers including farmers and railroad engineers in the 19th-century France. These garments were often constructed from heavyweight cotton fabric or moleskin in order to withstand the rough work environments.

This particular piece is made out of moleskin and features beautiful fades throughout the entire garment.
